S04 to face SSV Ulm 1846 in DFB-Pokal second round

FC Schalke 04 will come up against another fourth-division side in this season's DFB-Pokal. The Royal Blues were drawn against Regionalliga side SSV Ulm 1846 in the second round draw on Sunday evening.

The match will take place on either 22nd or 23rd December, with the exact date and timing of the game, as well as the location set to be announced in the coming days. As a lower-division side, Ulm will be the home team.

SSV Ulm 1846 started their DFB-Pokal campaign with a 2-0 win over second-division Erzgebirge Aue, while the Royals Blues recorded a 4-1 victory against 1. FC Schweinfurt 05.

The two sides have met just once in the history of the competition: in the first round in 1996/97, the Royal Blues won 2-0 after goals from Martin Max and Thomas Linke.
