S04 to play 1. FC Köln in the DFB-Pokal

Athlete Gina Lückenkemper has drawn FC Schalke 04 away from home in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. The Royal Blues will face 1. FC Köln on either the 30th or 31st October 2018, with the exact date yet to be confirmed.

‘The Billy Goats’ won 9-1 against BFC Dynamo in the first round, while S04 defeated 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 2-0.

A rematch of last season’s round-of-16 tie

Schalke and Köln have faced each other seven times in the DFB-Pokal. The side that were relegated last season have won five times, with the Royal Blues coming out victorious twice.  The most recent encounter was in the previous season in the last sixteen. The game ended in a 1-0 win for Schalke at the VELTINS-Arena.
