Schalke 04 defeated by KAS Eupen in practice game

The Royal Blues used the current international break to hold a practice game and faced off against Belgian second-tier side KAS Eupen. The match took place at Schalke’s training ground and some players from the Knappenschmeide featured in the game. The final result was 5-1 to the visiting side.

The match took place on one of our training pitches, and because the hygiene policy only allows for 100 spectators here, it was decided that no fans were to be allowed in the stadium.

The first half certainly did not go to plan for Schalke 04. Three goals from Isaac Nuhu (10’, 29’, and 37’) and one from Sibiry Keita (44’) meant that the Belgian side went into the break with a 4-0 lead.

KAS Eupen also scored the first goal of the second half through Konan N’Dri (47’) before Yaroslav Mihkailov got the Royal Blues on the scoresheet. The 18-year-old drove from midfield and netted from around twelve yards out in the 49th minute, which proved to be the final goal of the game.
