Ron Schallenberg: Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces

Ron Schallenberg spent two years on loan at SC Verl from SC Paderborn 07 between 2018 and 2020, playing a total of 57 games in all competitions and winning promotion to the third division. The midfielder will now return to the SPORTCLUB Arena on Thursday (18/7) at 18:30 CEST for a pre-season friendly.

“It will be a special game for me,” said the midfielder. “I had a great time at SC Verl and will see a few familiar faces again among their staff.” The third-division side’s playing squad has changed a lot since Schallenberg’s days there.

However, one player that Schallenberg was close with is still at SCV: “Daniel Mikic and I travelled to training together every day for two years,” he revealed. “I’m looking forward to seeing him again.”

Not everything has been perfect during pre-season so far, but we’ve definitely seen that the desire and attitude has been excellent, which is a great basis for a season.
