Tomas Kalas also pulled on a Schalke shirt for the first time. The Czech defender, who signed a contract at the club two weeks ago, was substituted on in the 64th minute.

Simon Terodde: Anticipate those situations and be in the right place

It was the type of goal that Simon Terodde has scored so often in his career. In the 40th minute, Schalke’s number 9 found himself in the perfect position for any centre forward. Tobias Mohr whipped in a dangerous cross, which Terodde let run through to Kenan Karaman.
