Royal Blues to play Sevilla in pre-season friendly

After the VELTINS-Arena was booked out for Schalke Day in 2024, fans will be able to return to the stadium to watch a friendly this year. This fixture against the club’s friends from Andalusia is an important part of the Royal Blues’ pre-season preparations.

Schalke and Sevilla – a special friendship
It’s not uncommon to see Schalke and Sevilla half-and-half scarves in both grounds. The two clubs first met in the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup in 2005/06. After a goalless draw in Gelsenkirchen in the first leg, Sevilla won 1-0 in extra time to book their place in the final.
The most recent friendly saw Sevilla win 2-0 at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on 22nd March 2019.
