Schalke to face FC Utrecht in friendly live on YouTube

FC Schalke 04 have arranged another friendly match. On Friday, 19th July, head coach Karel Geraerts’ side will host FC Utrecht, who finished seventh in the Eredivisie last season. The game against the Dutch side will be played behind closed doors for organisational reasons.

The reason for this is that one of three concerts from American musician Taylor Swift at the VELTINS-Arena will take place that evening. The good news is that the Royal Blues will stream the match live on their official YouTube channel.

The free stream will begin just before kick-off at 13:00 CEST. On Thursday, 18th July, there will also be live football on YouTube, as we take on SC Verl in another friendly. This stream will begin shortly before the 18:30 CEST kick-off against the 3. Liga side.

Karel Geraerts: We need to strike a better balance

Karel Geraerts came away from S04’s curtailed pre-season friendly against FC Midtjylland having been pleased by several aspects of his side’s play. However, after the Royal Blues’ 4-2 defeat – called off due to torrential rain in Saalfelden – their head coach knows that there are still plenty of improvements to be made ahead of the new season.

Bad weather causes an early finish – S04 lose 4-2 to FC Midtjylland

FC Schalke 04’s first friendly during their training camp at the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern ended early due to bad weather in Saalfelden. The score in the 82nd minute was 4-2 to FC Midtjylland. The Royal Blues actually led 2-1 at the break thanks to goals from Moussa Sylla and Paul Seguin.
