Amine Harit nominated for Bundesliga Rookie of the Season

In his first season in the German top flight, Amine Harit conquered the hearts of the Royal Blue fans with his style of play, while also proving how right the S04 management were to sign him in the summer. It’s no wonder then, that the DFL have nominated the 20 year old for their “Rookie of the Season” award.

Amine Harit

The Moroccan’s stats are impressive – no Bundesliga player took on an opponent more often in the last campaign than Harit, who was successful with 115 of his 204 attempts. The opposition also found it hard to stop the tricky winger fairly, as he was the most-fouled player in the league alongside Frankfurt’s Kevin Prince Boateng. On average, Harit was fouled every 22 minutes (94 times in total).

A strong runner and play maker

Considering just his teammates, his 48 passes that led to shots were only topped by set-piece takers Bastian Oczipka and Daniel Caligiuri, while no Royal Blue player set up as many clear-cut chances as Harit. His running statistics are also noteworthy, as he averaged 30 sprints a game.

Harit’s competition for the “Rookie of the Season” award are: Jadon Sancho and Dan-Axel Zagadou (both of Borussia Dortmund), Sebastien Haller (Eintracht Frankfurt), Jann-Fiete Arp and Tatsuya Ito (both of Hamburger SV), Benjamin Pavard (VfB Stuttgart) and Valentino Lazaro (Hertha BSC).
