Friendly against FC Zenit postponed

The friendly against FC Zenit, which was due to take place on 29th March at the newly re-opened Parkstadion, has been postponed. The Russian Champions will not travel to Gelsenkirchen due to the coronavirus.

Zenit, who are currently top of the Russian league, had been invited by S04 and the two club’s main sponsor GAZPROM.

The friendly would have marked the reopening of Schalke’s former ground the Parkstadion, where they played between 1973 and 2001. Both teams last faced off in November 2018 in Russia.

The two sides are now looking for a new date to play the match. Tickets already purchased will be valid for the new date.
