Indian media associates visit Schalke's first home game

Exciting visit to Schalke's VELTINS-Arena: Eight Indian media associates from the country's biggest sports media houses visited the Royal Blues' first home match of the season against Bayern Munich (24/8). Their Germany trip took them to Gelsenkirchen and Cologne.

To learn what the German Bundesliga is all about – that was the goal for the Germany trip that the Bundesliga International GmbH organized for Indian journalists in the past week. Their way led them to Schalke as well.

There, they were able to take part in an exclusive stadium tour, stops to the tunnel and the pitch included. In a presentation they learned all about the club, its history and work and vision.

Afterwards the eight participants were able to meet with Schalke’s board member for marketing and communications, Alexander Jobst. After the match the group was invited to visit the post-match mixed zone and interview Omar Mascarell for their own media coverage.

India developed a significant interest in the German Bundesliga over the last couple of years with StarTimes being rights owner to broadcast the matches live. Because of that the media houses try to cover the German matches as often and in depth as possible. It is the second time that Indian journalists visited Schalke.
