No further COVID-19 cases found in latest tests
There was good news after Friday's (25/9) round of coronavirus tests, with no further cases of COVID-19 found among the first team. FC Schalke 04 carried out this additional round of tests after a player was found to be positive for coronavirus on Thursday (24/9). The affected player remains in self isolation.
It means that Saturday’s scheduled Bundesliga home game against Werder Bremen can go ahead as planned. Team doctor and hygiene officer Dr. Patrick Ingelfinger of course remains in regular contact with the Gelenskirchen health department and the relevant authorities.
From next week, the club will return to its normal rhythm of coronavirus testing, as per the hygiene concept that applies to all Bundesliga clubs.
