Omar Mascarell named October’s Player of the Month
Royal Blues fans have chosen Omar Mascarell as their October Player of the Month. Almost half of the votes cast were for the Spaniard.
A whopping 47 percent of participants selected the defensive midfielder in the vote, presented by partners Hagedorn. He was followed by Suat Serdar (22%), Benjamin Stambouli (16%) and Jonjoe Kenny (15%). Mascarell succeeds Amine Hart, who had claimed the award in each of the previous two months.
One participant who had voted for Mascarell was chosen at random to win two VIP tickets for the home game against 1. FC Union Berlin, with Markus Busch from Schermbeck the lucky winner.
I’m very proud to receive this award.
The prize also included a meet and greet with Schalke’s number 6 in the Hagedorn box after the game, the 47-year-old Royal Blues fan also given the honour of presenting Mascarell with his award.
“Omar Mascarell has become a real stabiliser in front of the defence in recent weeks. He always works hard for the team and his great vision is a real asset for our attacking play too,” said Busch on his decision to vote for Mascarell. “It’s a huge honour for so many fans to have voted for me. I’m very proud to receive this award,” said the midfielder.
