Sascha Riether on…

… how the training camp went:
The time in Längenfeld obviously didn’t go as we had planned, but I think that we’ve all adapted to the unusual situation together and dealt with it really well. We know that it’s always possible for a player to become infected with Coronavirus, you sadly can’t prevent that even with all the precautionary measures. Other clubs are currently or have been affected by it too.

… the health of the player who tested positive for Covid-19:
The player in question didn’t have many symptoms. Thankfully, he’s doing well, but he needs to stay in quarantine for a few more days in Austria. Just like in the last few days, he isn’t allowed to leave his hotel room. We hope that we can welcome him back into the team as quickly as possible.

We’ve all adapted to the unusual situation together and dealt with it really well.

… his impressions from training:
The squad has shown great commitment in training. Every single one of them has been giving it their all – even those who have just returned from loan spells.

… the friendly against Aris FC:
Above all, we’re preparing for the start of the season. Obviously we have to be aiming to win every friendly, but pre-season is about improving fitness and fine-tuning certain areas; that means you have to try a couple of things out. That’s why you can’t focus on the results too much. Unlike in the season, they aren’t that important. But nonetheless, it’s a good feeling to have finished the training camp with a victory over Aris FC.
