Schalke 04 present itself at event by German Foreign Chamber of Commerce

At the invitation of the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad (AHK) in China, FC Schalke 04 organized a training for Chinese kids and students from the German Embassy School in Beijing on October 31 and November 1.

Together with the mascot ERWIN, the players of both nationalities trained on a specially built soccer field. A total of 20,000 visitors flocked to “Discover Germany”, where Schalke and 20 other well-known German brands and organizations presented themselves to the public.

The event was opened by the district mayor of Chaoyang, representatives of the German embassy and the head of the Chamber of Commerce in China. The German Football League also supported “Discover Germany”.

Schalke has been active with numerous projects in China for many years, now also with its own office in Shanghai. With the football school in Kunshan (Jiangsu Province), which was founded in 2016, and the partnership with the Chinese professional club Hebei China Fortune FC, Schalke has established sustainable initiatives which help to develop young Chinese players and coaches in both professional and amateur sports.

FC Schalke 04 release revenue numbers for first two quarters of 2021

FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V. reported a total revenue of €106.7 million in the first two quarters of the 2021 fiscal year (€102.2 million in the first two quarters of 2020). Business operations were affected by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the ensuing restrictions, as well as relegation from the Bundesliga. Particular attention was paid to mitigating the effects on total revenue through cost-cutting measures, reduced working hours, and the halting of development and investment projects.
