Schalke and Umbro reveal new away kit in China

Kick-off for and with Umbro: the first of the three new kits will be released just in time for the start of the new partnership between FC Schalke 04 and its new kit supplier, Umbro. The “Knappen”, the nickname for FC Schalke 04’s football team, will wear the new away kit during the test match against Southampton FC in China on Thursday, 5 July.

From this date on, it will also be available in all Schalke fan shops and online at store.schalke04.de.

The designers at Umbro have come up with a cutting-edge twist for the away kit: the sleeve cuff in electric blue creates a dynamic contrast to the otherwise very structured and discreet light grey jersey. Continuous double diamonds, the British company’s famous logo, decorate the cuffs. The company’s signet is also embroidered on the right side of the chest – the logo of FC Schalke 04 is on the left side.

The jersey is highly functional: ergonomic elements on the sides and mesh inserts under the arms give the jersey outstanding breathability. In addition to this, the Schalke slogan is printed in the area of the neck: „Wir leben dich.“

Alexander Jobst, member of Schalke’s managing board, says about the new away kit, „In cooperation with Umbro, we have deliberately chosen to go from the classic football jersey to this modern jersey in a new design and, after many years in white, a new colour”.

„The new away kit also looks great when you’re not on the pitch. The jersey’s main material is visually reminiscent of grey cotton, which is often used in streetwear products. There has never been an FC Schalke 04 jersey like this before“, says Michael Scholz, General Manager of Umbro Germany.

The new away kit is available in all fan shops and online for EUR 84.95. The ladies’ jersey is online also available for EUR 84.95. The children’s jersey costs EUR 64.95.
