Suat Serdar voted December Player of the Month

A fine month of performances for Suat Serdar saw has seen him crowned December Player of the Month. Voted by fans on schalke04.de, Serdar picked up 42% of the votes for the award, sponsored by our partners Hagedorn, beating Benito Raman (27%), Ozan Kabak (23%) and Bastian Oczipka (8%).

Suat Serdar follows teammate Ozan Kabak, who picked up the award for November. Amine Harit (August and September) and Omar Mascarell (October) are the season’s other winners. “I’m really happy and proud of this award,” the 22-year-old said, before adding that his performances would not have been possible without the support of his teammates.

Season ticket holder Andreas Brandfaß had the honour of handing the award over to Serdar during a meet and greet after watching Friday’s match against Borussia Mönchengladbach as a VIP guest. “Suat got my vote, as his dynamic play and intelligence set him apart from his great teammates in December,” he told.

“It was an incredible moment that will live long in my memory,” Brandfaß said after meeting our no. 8. “There’s nothing better than coming up close with the Player of the Month, especially after he scored another goal tonight. Suat showed that he deserved this award.”
