Mehmet Can Aydin called up to Turkey’s national team

Mehmet Can Aydin has been called up to the Turkey side for the first time by Stefan Kuntz. The 21-year-old is in the squad for the upcoming qualifiers against Armenia (Saturday, 25/3) and Croatia (Tuesday, 29/3).

Aydin, who had previously played for various Germany youth sides, recently made the decision to represent Turkey instead.

Aydin joined Schalke in summer 2014 from Borussia Mönchengladbach’s academy. He played for all of the club’s academy sides before making it to the first team in 2020/21. The versatile youngster has featured 40 times in all competitions for the Royal Blues, including 15 times this season.
