Vitalie Becker starts for Germany U20s in win over Italy

Vitalie Becker and Germany U20s also won their second game of the international break, defeating Italy 4-0 on Tuesday (9/9) at the Stadion an der Kreuzeiche in Reutlingen.

Vitalie Becker and his teammates celebrate a goal.

Having started the 5-1 win over Switzerland 04 days ago, Schalke’s left-back was again in the starting XI, playing the first 71 minutes. It was Becker’s 15th game overall for Germany, and his second for this age group.

Former Royal Blue Assan Ouedraogo, now of RB Leipzig, put Germany ahead after 14 minutes with a clever back-heel finish. AS Monaco’s Paris Brunner (34’) and Heidenheim’s Arijon Ibrahimovic (41’, penalty) added further goals before the break. Brunner got his second and Germany’s final goal of the day in the 56th minute.

The next international break will see Germany U20s play Portugal twice. The venues for the fixtures scheduled for 10th and 13th October are yet to be confirmed.
