Mamady Diambou (66’) and Issoufi Maiga (116’) scored the two goals for Mali, while Zakaria El Ouahdi (14’) and Amine El Ouazzani (108’) got on the score sheet for Morocco.

Individual award for the Schalke centre-back

In the third-place play-off, Mali will play Guinea on Friday 7th July, with the final between Morocco and Egypt taking place the next day.

After the group stage, the African Football Federation (CAF) announced the “Eleven of the Group Stage”. Cissé was one of the two centre-backs named, recognition for consistent performance at the U23 AFCON.
