Ibrahima Cissé and Mali reach the semi-finals of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations

Schalke’s number 22 qualified for the semi-finals of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations with Mali on Saturday (1/7). The defender’s side won 2-0 in their final group game against Niger. Their goals were scored by Mamadou Sangaré (49’) and Cheickna Doumbia (90’).

The centre-back played the full 90 minutes in Rabat in Morocco and therefore didn’t miss a single minute of Mali’s three group games.

Cissé and his teammates finished second in Group B. They will play hosts Morocco in the final four on Tuesday (4/7). The other semi-final will be contested between Egypt and Guinea.
