Dramatic win for Breel Embolo and Switzerland

Granit Xhaka scored Switzerland’s first goal in what was a hard fought game. The former Gladbach player, who now laces up his boots for Arsenal, cancelled out Aleksandar Mitrovic’s early opener (5’) seven minutes after half time.

Embolo came on for Blerim Dzemaili in the 73rd minute and injected a new lease of life into the team.

With two games down, Switzerland now have four points to their name. It means that they go into the final matchday in second place behind Brazil. Embolo and Co. round off the group stage with a game against Costa Rica, who are already mathematically eliminated.
