Gold Cup: Weston McKennie called up to USA provisional squad

US national team head coach Gregg Berhalter has picked Weston McKennie in his provisional squad for the upcoming Gold Cup. The Gold Cup will be held between the 18th June to 18th July in the USA, Costa Rica and Jamaica.

The final squad for the Gold Cup will be announced on the 5th June. The provisional squad is 40-man strong.

In the future, Haji Wright could be an option for the squad. The striker, who has been playing with the Schalke 04 U23s, but has also had some minutes in the first team, is currently on a training camp with a US prospects squad. The 21-year-old wasn’t picked in the provisional squad for the Gold Cup.
