Max Grüger plays 90 minutes as Germany U20 win in Czechia

Max Grüger and the Germany U20 national team were able to celebrate a 1-0 win away to Czechia on Friday night (21/3). The FC Schalke 04 midfielder was named in the starting line-up and played the duration of proceedings.

Justin Diehl scored the only goal of the game in Teplice. The VfB Stuttgart striker converted with a placed effort into the bottom left-hand corner in the 18th minute.

The match marked Grüger’s third cap at U20 level and a tenth in total across all Germany youth international levels for the Gelsenkirchen-born player.

Schalke’s home-grown talent has the chance for further minutes on Monday (24/3) when head coach Hannes Wolf’s take on Portugal U20 at 15:30 CET in Potsdam.
