Yusuf Kabadayi makes his debut for Germany U20s

Yusuf Kabadayi made his first appearance for the Germany U20 side on Thursday (07/09). The attacker came on in the 71st minute of their friendly against Italy, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The 19-year-old almost bagged an injury-time winner following a corner at the Stadion auf dem Wurfplatz in Berlin, but Italian goalkeeper Lorenzo Palmisani was equal to his effort from 18 yards out.

It would have been Kabadayi’s fifth goal in a Germany kit, having already bagged four in his six appearances for the U19s and five games for the U18s.

In what was largely an evenly contested encounter, Arminia Bielefeld’s Marius Wörl made it 1-0 to Hannes Wolf’s side shortly before the half-time whistle. Cristian Volpato, who plays for Serie A side Sassuolo, got Italy’s equaliser in the 58th minute.

Another friendly awaits Kabadayi and Co. on Monday (11/09). The Stadion Orla Bialego in Legnica will host their match against the Poland U20s (16:15 CEST).
