Kabak and Kutucu face Germany, Royal Blues meet in Rabat

A total of eight FC Schalke 04 players will be representing their countries in the upcoming international break. Ozan Kabak and Ahmed Kutucu will come up against Germany, whilst Royal Blues may face each other in Morocco.

There’s a special game on Wednesday (7/10) for Ozan Kabak and Ahmed Kutucu, for whom it will be extra special as he was born in Gelsenkirchen. The Royal Blues face Germany with Turkey in Cologne. They won’t come up against teammate Suat Serdar, however, who was injured in the game against Leipzig on Saturday (3/10) and is unavailable for Joachim Löw’s side.

After facing Germany, Kabak and Kutucu turn their attention to the UEFA Nations League. Turkey visit Russia on Sunday (11/10) before Senol Günes’ side hosts Serbia in Istanbul on the following Wednesday (14/10). After two games in Group 3 of League B, Turkey are in third place with one point. Russia lead the way after picking up six points in their first two games.

Schöpf and Matondo: First a friendly, then the Nations League

Alessandro Schöpf is also in action for his country. Austria play a friendly against Greece on Wednesday (7/10) in Klagenfurt before two Nations League games. They visit Northern Ireland (11/10) and then Romania (14/10). Head coach Franco Foda’s men are third in Group 1 of League B after registering one win and one draw.

Rabbi Matondo is also looking forward to three internationals. The Welshman travels to Wembley to face England in a friendly on Thursday (8/10), before Wales visit Ireland for a Nations League fixture three days later. Ryan Giggs’ side then make the trip to Bulgaria (14/10). Wales lead Group 4 of League B; they are yet to drop a point.

Salif Sané

Sané faces Boujellab and Mendyl

Royal Blues could come up against each other in the Moroccan capital Rabat on Friday (9/10). Nassim Boujellab and Hamza Mendyl’s Morocco will host Salif Sané and Senegal in a friendly. It could be Boujellab’s first appearance for the Morocco national side. The ‘Atlas Lions’ then play a friendly against the Democratic Republic of the Congo four days later, whilst Senegal face Mauritania in a friendly.

Bozdogan selected for the U20s

The last Royal Blue in action is Can Bozdogan, who has been selected for Germany U20s. They come up against Switzerland U20s on Wednesday (7/10).
