Mark Uth and Sebastian Rudy named in Germany squad

Germany coach Joachim Löw has announced his squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands (13.10) and France (16.10). Two Royal Blues are on board in the form of Sebastian Rudy and Mark Uth, with the striker receiving his first ever senior call-up.

Mark Uth und Sebastian Rudy

Mark Uth will be hoping to make his long-awaited Germany debut next week. Joachim Löw has included the Schalke forward and his teammate Sebastian Rudy in the Die Mannschaft squad for the October international break. Germany play two Nations League games, first against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on 13th October, before a trip to Paris to take on France three days later. Both matches kick off at 20:45 CEST.

Rudy has already won 26 caps for the Germany senior team, while Uth is set to wear his national team’s colours for the first time in eight years – his only previous appearance came for the U20s against Switzerland back in September 2010.

S04 trio selected for U21s

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Alexander Nübel, midfielder Suat Serdar and forward Cedric Teuchert have all been chosen for the Germany U21s. Stefan Kuntz’s team have two more qualifiers remaining as they aim to defend top spot and reach the European Under-21 Championship in Italy and San Marino. Their remaining opponents Norway (12th October at 20:00 CEST) and Ireland (16th October at 18:30 CEST) currently sit second and third in the group respectively, with two draws enough to see Germany through.
