Suat Serdar, Rabbi Matondo and Weston McKennie all saw their respective nations win and reach their goals on Tuesday evening (19/11).

Serdar wins his third cap

Germany ended their EURO 2020 qualification campaign with a convincing 6-1 win at home against Northern Ireland. Suat Serdar came off the bench in the 73rd minute to win his third cap, replacing Leon Goretzka, who scored a second-half brace. Serge Gnabry bagged a hat trick, while Julian Brandt added a late goal to complete the rout. Michael Smith had earlier given the visitors the lead after just seven minutes.

Germany end Group C with a two point lead over the Netherlands. Joachim Löw’s side have therefore secured a place in pot 1 for the draw, which will take place on 30th November in Bucharest.

Wales beat Hungary to qualify

The Welsh national team won a huge clash against Hungary to secure direct qualification for next summer’s tournament. Aaron Ramsey’s brace sealed the 2-0 win for Ryan Giggs’ side. Schalke’s Rabbi Matondo was an unused sub in Cardiff.

McKennie and the US comfortable winners

The USA won their final group game of the CONCACAF Nations League 4-0 against Cuba to ensure they won their group. McKennie started the game in George Town, playing 69 minutes. Werder’s Josh Sargent and Jordan Morris from the Seattle Sounders scored two goals apiece to send the US into the semi-finals in June.

Disappointing evening for Kutucu

Ahmed Kutucu was back playing for Turkey’s U21s just two days after making his senior debut. His side suffered a surprising 2-0 loss to Andorra in a U21 Euro qualifier and he was taken off at the break.
