Royal-Blue duo and S04 newcomer to go to the U21 Euros

Alexander Nübel , Suat Serdar and Jonjoe Kenny, two current S04 players and one newcomer, will be travelling to take part in the U21 Euros in Italy and San Marino. The competition starts on Sunday and both teams, Germany and England are favourites to win the tournament.

Alexander Nübel

Germany, the defending champions, will play their first game of the tournament on Monday (17/07/19, 21:00 CEST) as they take on Denmark. They will then take on Serbia and then Austria (20/06/19 and 23/06/19).

Head coach Stefan Kuntz is satisfied with how his team is.  In a friendly against Poland (4x 30 minutes), the Germany U21s came out as 3-2 winners. Meanwhile, Germany’s upcoming opponents beat Croatia in a 1-0 friendly on Wednesday.

Jonjoe Kenny

A day after Germany’s first game, Jonjoe Kenny and the Three Lions will begin their campaign with a game against France on Tuesday (18/06/19, 21:00 CEST). England will also play Romania and Croatia (21/06/19 and 24/06/19).

Semi-finalists will qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

No team can really afford to slip-up in the group stages. Only the team at the top of the group and the best second placed team will qualify for the semi-finals of the competition and so get a ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

However, there is one exception: England can’t qualify for the Olympics as they will be participating as a team of the United Kingdom. Should England get through to the semis, there will be a deciding game between the next best second placed teams to see who qualifies for the Olympics.
