Schubert clean sheet, Mckennie in international derby defeat
While Markus Schubert and Juan Miranda were able to celebrate their teams picking up all three points on Tuesday (15/10/2019), the evening was not as pleasant for two other Schalke players.

Schubert keeps a clean sheet in victory
Markus Schubert and the Germany U21 side celebrate a second win in their second Euro qualifier. Stefan Kuntz’ team ran out 2-0 winners over Bosnia-Herzegovina, Luca Kilian and Lukas Nmecha got the goals for the Germans. Schubert, who once again was in goal for Germany, kept a clean sheet in a win that saw his side take top spot in Group 9.
Spain U21s win without Miranda
Spain’s U21s, without Juan Miranda, made it three wins from three games in European qualification. The current U21 European champions won 2-0 in Montenegro; Aitor Bunuel (34’) and Marc Cucurella (62’) were on the scoresheet for “La Rojita”.
Harit brought on late during defeat
Morocco suffered a 3-2 loss to Gabon in a friendly. Amine Harit came on in the 80th minute for the hosts, whose goals came from a Nordin Amrabat brace (32’, 69’). Aaron Boupendza (22’) and Denis Bouanga (48’) scored for Gabon, who took the lead late on thanks to an Issam Chebaka own goal (80’).
USA and McKennie lose to neighbours
Tuesday night (CEST), Gregg Berhalter’s side fell in Toronto as Bayern’s Alphonso Davies (63’) and Lucas Cavallini (90’+1) scored for the hosts. Canada now top Group A in the top tier of the CONCACAF Nations League with 9 points, ahead of the USA (3) and Cuba (0). The USMNT, for whom Weston McKennie played the whole match, have a game in hand over Canada.
