Germany U21s with a draw

At the European U21 Championship, Germany U21s snatched a point against Netherlands U21s. Justin Kluivert put the Dutch team ahead shortly after half time as he benefitted from a mistake from Germany goalkeeper Finn Dahmen (48’). Stefan Kuntz’s team increased the pressure over the course of the second half and managed to level the scores six minutes before the end through a close-range Lukas Nmecha effort.

Malick Thiaw and Markus Schubert, who is on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Schalke, were both unused substitutes in the game. Germany are now in first place in Group A ahead of the final group stage match against Romania on Tuesday (18:00 CEST), who also have four points. The Dutch are in third place with two points. The first and second places in the four groups qualify for the knockout round of the competition, which will be played from 31 May to 6 June.
