Seven S04 players on international duty, Benito Raman called up for the first time

Seven of Schalke’s players will be representing their countries during the first international break of the 2019/20 season.

Raman makes a Belgium squad for the first time

One Royal Blue could make his senior international debut over the next week. Benito Raman has been called up by national coach Roberto Martinez for Belgium’s upcoming Euro qualifiers away against San Marino (Friday, 6/9) and Scotland (Monday, 9/9).

Nastasic back in the Serbia squad

After a change of coach, Matija Nastasic has earned a recall to the Serbia squad. The defender, who missed out on the final Serbian World Cup squad last year, explained that he wouldn’t play for his country again with Mladen Krastjic as the coach.

Now Ljubisa Tumbakovic has taken over, the 26-year-old is ready to resume playing for his country. The Balkan country will face Portugal (Saturday, 7/9) and Luxembourg (Tuesday, 10/9) in Group B of their Euro qualifiers.

Harit recalled to the Moroccan squad

Amine Harit is also back in his national side’s plans after an absence. The midfielder missed out on Morocco’s final Africa Cup of Nations squad, but new national coach Vahid Halilhodzic has picked Harit for the upcoming friendlies against Burkina Faso (Friday, 6/9) and Niger (Tuesday, 10/9).

Weston McKennie

Repeat of the Gold Cup final

Weston McKennie will once again represent the USA in two friendlies. The first of those games will be a repeat of the Gold Cup final against Mexico – the US slipped to a 1-0 defeat just a month ago. They will then face Uruguay on Wednesday, 11th September.

Trio in U21s action

After finishing as runners-up in this summer’s U21 European Championship, Germany U21s are starting afresh. One of the many new call-ups is Markus Schubert. The young keeper will face Greece in a friendly (Thursday, 5/9) before their qualification campaign kicks off in Wales (Tuesday, 10/9).

New signing Juan Miranda, who won the U19s Euros with Spain in the summer, has been called up to their U21s side for the upcoming international break. He will face Kazakhstan (Friday, 6/9), before hosting Montenegro (Tuesday, 10/9).

Ahmed Kutucu is the other Royal Blue in U21 action. The Turkish striker will host England U21s on Friday (6/9).
