Serdar in his first competitive game for Germany

Thanks to a brace from Ilkay Gündogan (51’, 57’) and a Timo Werner goal (71’), Serdar celebrated a 3-0 victory with the Germany national team in Estonia. The 22-year-old came on as a replacement for Marco Reus in the 77th minute of the Euro 2020 Qualifier. After a red card was shown to Emre Can (14’), Germany were forced to play with a man down for most of the match but they managed to take home all three points and are now one step closer to qualifying for next summer’s tournament. Germany and the Netherlands are currently level on 15 points in Group C of qualification, with third-placed Northern Ireland trailing close behind on 12.

Serdar was playing in his first competitive match as a full international, after having made his first team debut in Wednesday’s (9/10/2019) friendly against Argentina.

Matondo not involved as Wales draw to Croatia

Rabbi Matondo will have to wait to make his fourth appearance for the Wales national team. The 19-year-old was on the substitutes bench for the full 90 minutes of the 1-1 draw against Croatia. Both goals in Cardiff came before the break; Nikola Vlasic scored for the World Cup finalists after nine minutes, then Gareth Bale brought it level in injury time of the first half.

Wales have 8 points from six matches in Group E, and qualification for next summer’s continental tournament is still within their grasp.
