Suat Serdar nominated for Germany squad once again

Schalke midfielder Suat Serdar has been named in Germany’s squad ahead of their upcoming EURO qualifiers against Belarus and Northern Ireland.

Joachim Löw’s 24-man squad was announced on Friday, 8th November. The match against Belarus will take place on 16th November at 20:45 CET in Mönchengladbach. Three days later, Die Mannschaft will face Northern Ireland in Frankfurt (kick-off also at 20:45 CET).

Key matches for Germany on the road to the EUROs

Serdar could pick up his third and fourth caps for Germany during the two upcoming matches. The 22-year-old made his senior international debut during a 2-2 draw in a friendly against Argentina on 9th October. Four days later, Serdar was once again on the pitch for a 3-0 win in a EURO qualifier against Estonia.

Currently, Germany are in second place in Group C with 15 points. The Netherlands top the table, but are level on points with Germany. Northern Ireland is in third with 12 points. The top two teams in each group will qualify for next year’s European Championship.

Schubert called up for U21s duel with Belgium

Meanwhile, Markus Schubert has been named to Germany’s U21 squad. The goalkeeper has been called up ahead of the team’s EURO qualifier against Belgium on 17th November. Kick-off is set for 16:00 CET in Freiburg.
