Taylan Bulut and Germany U19s get off to a winning start

Germany U19s made a successful start to their qualification campaign for the 2025 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. Taylan Bulut and his side won 2-0 in Andorra on Tuesday (12/11) in their first group game in the first qualifying round.

Schalke’s defender, who played the full game two days prior against SSV Jahn Regensburg, came off in the 71st minute. RB Leipzig’s Robert Ramsak (8’) and Cercle Brugge’s Paris Brunner (55’, penalty) got the goals for Hanno Balitsch’s team. It was Bulut’s third cap for the U19s, with the youngster now having represented his country 27 times at various age groups.

Germany’s second game during this international break is on Friday (15/11) against Cyprus at 15:00 CET, before a final clash with Hungary next Monday (19/11) at 19:00 CET. The top two teams in each group, as well as the best third-placed team from the 13 groups, will reach the ‘elite round’, to be played in early 2025. The seven group winners will then earn a place at the tournament in Romania next year.
