Third cap for Nassim Boujellab

Nassim Boujellab made his third appearance for the Moroccan national side on Tuesday evening (17/11). Schalke’s academy product came off the bench late on in their 2-0 win away to Central African Republic.

Amine Harit and Hamza Mendyl didn’t feature in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Douala. Morocco’s goals were scored by Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea (39’) and Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri (90’).

Morocco took a big step towards booking their place at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations with these three points. The ‘Atlas Lions’ now have 10 points on the board after four games in group E, sitting five clear of Mauritania in second (5 points) and six clear of Burundi (4).

The winners of each qualifying group will reach the final tournament, meaning Morocco need just one further point from their remaining two games in March 2021 to confirm their place for Cameroon in 2022.
