Germany U20s: Keke Topp scores on his debut

Keke Topp and Yusuf Kabadayi, both selected for the Germany U20 side, celebrated a 2-1 win against hosts Portugal. Both players impressed with their performances.

Both Topp and Kabadayi were selected in head coach Hannes Wolf’s starting XI and quickly repaid his faith. Topp scored from a ball into the box from Tom Rothe (Holstein Kiel) to put his side 1-0 up in the 50th minute, with the 19-year-old netting on his debut for the Germany U20 national team. Portugal did manage to find an equaliser (59’), but Germany secured the win thanks to Mika Baur’s goal (86’, SC Freiburg).

Yusuf Kabadayi also put in a very good performance and was one of just five Germany players to play the full 90 minutes. It was the Schalke attacker’s third appearance for the U20s and he also played the whole of the last game against Poland.

Next up for the S04 duo is a fixture against Czechia in Dreieich on Monday (16.10, 18:00 CEST).
