Two Royal Blues in final Germany U21 squad

Germany’s U21s will look to defend their European Championship title with two Royal Blues in the squad. On Friday (7th June), head coach Stefan Kuntz named both Alexander Nübel and Suat Serdar to his 23-man squad for the upcoming European Championship in Italy and San Marino, which runs from 16th to 30th June. Cedric Teuchert did not make the final squad.

Germany will face Denmark (17th June), Serbia (20th June), and Austria (23rd June) in Group B action. The top team in each group, as well as the best overall second-place team will qualify for the semifinal on 27th June. The final will take place on 30th June.
But, before the group stage kicks off, the defending U21 European champions still have two friendlies on their schedule. On Friday (7th June), Stefan Kuntz’ side will face a selection of U21 players from South Tyrol before facing Poland on Monday (10th June). The game against Poland will not be open to the public.

Defenders: Waldemar Anton (Hannover 96), Timo Baumgartl (VfB Stuttgart), Benjamin Henrichs (AS Monaco), Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig), Maximilian Mittelstädt (Hertha BSC), Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen), Felix Uduokhai (VfL Wolfsburg).

Midfielders: Nadiem Amiri (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim), Mahmoud Dahoud (Borussia Dortmund), Maximilian Eggestein (Werder Bremen), Robin Koch (SC Freiburg), Eduard Löwen (1. FC Nürnberg), Arne Maier (Hertha BSC), Florian Neuhaus (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Levin Öztunali (1. FSV Mainz 05), Marco Richter (FC Augsburg), Suat Serdar (FC Schalke 04).

Attackers: Johannes Eggestein (Werder Bremen), Lukas Nmecha (Preston North End), Luca Waldschmidt (SC Freiburg).
