Konoplyanka scores equaliser

Ukraine were top of Nations League Group B1 going into their last group game and had already confirmed promotion after winning all three of their previous games. Therefore the 4-1 defeat in Slovakia meant very little. Yevhen Konoplyanka drew the game level at 1-1 just two minutes after the break as the forward fired home a great strike from outside the area.

Ukraine have one more international game on Tuesday against Turkey in Kiev.

Harit an unused substitute in an important win

Morocco took a huge step towards African Cup of Nations qualification with a 2-0 win against table-toppers Cameroon. Amine Harit had to watch on from the bench as Morocco moved top of Group B with a win in Casablanca as Hakim Ziyech bagged both goals. Morocco will qualify for next year’s African Cup of Nations if Malawi fail to beat Comoros on Saturday. If Malawi win, Morocco can secure qualification with a win against Malawi in March 2019.

Morocco play their last international game of 2018 in a friendly against Tunisia on Tuesday.

Serdar starts in 3-0 win

Suat Serdar played 69 minutes for Germany U21s in a 3-0 win against The Netherlands. This puts Germany U21s in great form ahead of the Euros next year in Italy and San Marino. Philipp Ochs put Germany ahead with a penalty after 15 minutes before Abdelhamid Sabiri and debutant Törles Knöll added two more in the second half. Alexander Nübel was the number one in qualification but was not brought on by U21 coach Stefan Kuntz as he tried to experiment more with his squad.

Germany U21s play a friendly against Italy U21s on Monday to end the year.
