FC Schalke 04 bids farewell to eight first-team players

The last few months have been intensive for FC Schalke 04, whose courageous efforts to catch up to and surpass the points tallies of those teams around them in the relegation battle were sadly not rewarded with the retention of S04’s Bundesliga status. As a result, several players are set to leave the club.

Michael Frey: Every player knows the importance of this game

FC Schalke will face their neighbours in black and yellow for the 100th time in the Bundesliga on Saturday (18:30 CET). It is the first Revierderby for S04 striker Michael Frey, and he is full of anticipation for it. Schalke’s confidence has grown further thanks to two wins in a row, and with the fans behind them, Frey and his teammates want to cause an upset against BVB at the VELTINS arena, as he revealed in an interview with schalke04.de.

Michael Frey: We won’t let up

Thomas Reis’ side recorded a third consecutive goalless draw on Friday night (10/2). Along with his opposite number, Niko Kovac, he spoke to the press after the game. Michael Frey and Ralf Fährmann also gave their thoughts on the match to the journalists present.

Michael Frey: Fight hard until the end

Little more than 30 hours after signing for FC Schalke 04, Michael Frey saw his first minutes of action for the club away in Frankfurt (21/1). Following his Bundesliga debut, the striker spoke about the defeat, the challenges ahead, his goals and his qualities. The 28-year-old also touched on what matters most when fighting the drop.
