Rodrigo Zalazar: We need to keep climbing up the table!

There was huge applause for Rodrigo Zalazar from the travelling support when he was substituted in the final minute of regular time of FC Schalke 04’s 2-0 victory over local rivals VfL Bochum on Saturday (4/3). The midfielder directly contributed to both goals, providing the cross which led to Manuel Riemann’s own goal, and then taking the corner which was put away but Marius Bülter to double the Royal Blues’ advantage.

Thomas Reis: Need to keep a cool head

After last weekend’s long-awaited 2-1 home win against VfB Stuttgart, the Royal Blues are looking for a repeat this Saturday against VfL Bochum (4/3, 15:30 CET). A win would be enough for them to leapfrog their neighbours in the table.

Gerald Asamoah: Get stuck in and try to win every tackle

It was clear to see how happy Gerald Asamoah was after the 2-1 home win over VfB Stuttgart at the VELTINS-Arena last Saturday. “Scoring two goals and getting the win after four straight goalless draws felt really good,” said the first-team manager. “We can’t now afford to think that the next few games will be a walk in the park. We have to remain focused.”
