Midfielder Adil Aouchiche joins FC Schalke 04
FC Schalke 04 have signed central midfielder Adil Aouchiche on a deal running until at least 2027. The Frenchman most recently spent time on loan at Aberdeen FC in the Scottish Premiership, with English top-flight side Sunderland his parent club. He will wear the number 24 shirt for the Royal Blues.
The arrival of Aouchiche gives Schalke 04 another option in central midfield. “Adil fits our playing philosophy perfectly with his intensity and game intelligence. As a box-to-box player, he’ll be an exciting option for us, with his physicality, high work rate and sharp acceleration over the first few yards,” explained Youri Mulder, director of professional football. “Adil reads the game well, is constantly available for the ball and isn’t afraid to play a risky pass. We’re really pleased to have him on board.”
Aouchiche brings plenty of experience from Europe’s top leagues, including 81 Ligue 1 appearances and 48 games in the EFL Championship. He also made 48 appearances for France’s youth sides, scoring 21 goals. The midfielder has featured in 30 competitive matches so far this season.

A product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy, he moved on via AS Saint-Étienne and FC Lorient before heading to England. Since U19 level, he has made 220 competitive appearances for his clubs, registering 54 goal contributions.
