Academy players join first-team training ahead of Oberhausen friendly

Nine players from the Knappenschmiede joined the first team for training on Wednesday morning (23/9), with four from the U23s and five from the U19s involved. Magnus Rösner, Louis Tober, Edion Gashi and Jean-Paul N’diaye represented the U23s, while Kyrylo Khadasevych, Niclas Damberg, Amir El Abdouni, Arian Güzel and Aboubacar Sylla stepped up from the U19s.

Academy product Luca Vozar signs new Schalke deal until 2029

One of Schalke’s brightest young prospects has committed his future to the club. Luca Vozar signed a professional contract on Thursday afternoon that will keep him at FC Schalke 04 until 30th June 2029. The 19-year-old has been at the club since U9 level and progressed through the Knappenschmiede academy. He captained Norbert Elgert’s U19 side last season before making his Bundesliga debut in the recent home game against FC Bayern München (5/9).

Schalke 04 sign Hwang Hee-chan on loan until end of the season

FC Schalke 04 have added international experience to their front line with the addition of Hwang Hee-chan. The South Korean striker has joined the Royal Blues from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a loan deal until 30th June 2027. Hwang, who has 82 caps for his country (17 goals), played in all three of South Korea’s group games at this summer’s World Cup. In Germany, Hwang has already played for Hamburger SV and RB Leipzig. For Wolves, he registered 31 goal contributions (24 goals, 7 assists) in 131 Premier League appearances.

Christian Gomis joins CD Tenerife on loan with option to buy

Christian Gomis will spend the season on loan at Spanish second-tier side CD Tenerife in search of more regular game time. The 26-year-old attacker made 19 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga last season, scoring once and providing one assist, as FC Schalke 04 won promotion back to the Bundesliga. Schalke have agreed a loan deal with CD Tenerife until 30th June 2027, which includes an option to buy.

Schalke 04 and Aris Bayindir terminate contract by mutual consent

FC Schalke 04 and Aris Bayindir have mutually agreed to terminate his contract with immediate effect after two years at the club. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder joined Schalke from RB Leipzig’s U19s in summer 2024.

Schalke 04 have continued to shape their squad for the future by handing another Knappenschmiede graduate a new deal. Vitalie Becker has signed a contract running until 30th June 2030. The 21-year-old left-back, who was born in Bottrop, has been at Schalke since joining the club’s U9s and won the German U17 title with the Royal Blues in the summer of 2022.
