Aris Bayindir joins FC Schalke 04

FC Schalke 04 completed the signing of talented midfielder Aris Bayindir from RB Leipzig on Tuesday (18/6).

“Aris is a two-footed player, strong on the ball and an intelligent footballer too. These attributes make him a versatile midfielder,” explained Marc Wilmots on behalf of the management. “At his young age of just 17, we want to give him the chance at Schalke to show his qualities in professional football in the coming years, as well as help him to continue his development.”

Bayindir added: “The club talked me through a clear plan they have for me for the coming years. I’m looking forward to this challenge and want to show that I can help the club.”

Born in Luxembourg, Bayindir came through the youth teams of FC Viktoria and Hertha BSC following his move to Berlin. He then signed for RB Leipzig in 2022. Bayindir made 22 appearances in the Under 19 Bundesliga North/Northeast last season, scoring six times and providing five assists.
