Mehmet Can Aydin loaned to Trabzonspor

“Memo is a young player, and at his age, it’s important that he is able to see as much playing time as possible at a professional level. Based on our analysis of last season, and having looked at his prospects this season, we decided that a loan would be the best option for both sides,” said André Hechelmann, sporting director of S04. “We wish Memo all the best for the upcoming season and will keep an eye on his progress.”

The wide man joined the Royal Blues from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2014. He then progressed through each level of the Schalke youth set-up before making the leap into the first team during the 2020/21 season. Aydin featured 16 times for S04 in the Bundesliga last season and twice in the DFB-Pokal.
