Benito Raman moves to RSC Anderlecht with immediate effect
The Royal Blues are pushing forward with the restructuring of the squad, with Benito Raman joining RSC Anderlecht with immediate effect. The 26-year-old, whose contract at Schalke was due to run until 2024, has agreed a three-year deal with the record Belgian champions. The transfer fee is undisclosed.
“Benito communicated to us openly that he no longer saw his future at Schalke 04,” explains sporting director Rouven Schröder. “Therefore, it is positive for both sides to have found a sensible solution with the transfer to Anderlecht. We are especially pleased with the financial aspect of the move – that brings our club another step forwards. We wish Benito all the best for his sporting and personal future.”
Benito Raman was a part of the Royal Blue squad for two seasons and the Belgian made 55 competitive appearances for Schalke, playing a direct role in 16 goals. Raman was particularly clinical in the DFB-Pokal, scoring six goals in five matches, including the extra-time winner in the 3-2 victory against Hertha BSC in the 2020 round of 16.
