“Blendi is a young player with a lot of potential, who made the leap from the U23 side to the first-team squad and was an important part of our promotion-winning side. He can gain valuable playing time in the next few months at Regensburg so that he can continue to develop,” said sporting director Rouven Schröder. “We wish Blendi the best of luck and lots of success for the rest of the season.”

Idrizi took his first steps in senior football with Blau-Weiß Friesdorf, before joining Regionalliga side Alemannia Aachen for the 2019/20 season. After six months, he made another switch to league rivals Fortuna Köln, before the Bonn native joined Schalke’s reserve team in January 2020. The Kosovo international played a total of 36 games for the Royal Blues’ U23s. In the summer of 2021, the 24-year-old was rewarded with a professional contract with the Knappen and featured in 22 games in the second division, scoring one goal.
