Idrizi was more than happy to take on this challenge: “I’m thankful to everyone auf Schalke for showing this confidence in me. I will do all I can to pay the club back with good performances.”

The 23-year-old joined Schalke’s U23s from Fortuna Köln in January 2020. He scored eight goals and set up a further eight in 36 Regionalliga games, before going on to play three times in the Bundesliga at the back end of last season, scoring his maiden top-flight goal against Eintracht Frankfurt. Idrizi was also called up to Kosovo’s national team for the first time at the end of 2020/21, winning his first two caps.
