Marius Bülter joins TSG 1899 Hoffenheim

Attacker Marius Bülter has left FC Schalke 04 after two seasons to join TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The clubs have agreed that the transfer details will remain undisclosed.

“Marius has developed massively during his two years at Schalke. His impressive performances have given him the chance to continue playing in the Bundesliga,” said André Hechelmann, sporting director at FC Schalke 04. “Marius came to us and let us know that he wanted to take this opportunity. We respected his wish, but we also obviously only agreed to sell him under certain conditions. We have now come to an agreement with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. We would like to wish Marius all the best for the future.”

Bülter appeared 69 times in all competitions for the Royal Blues and had a hand in 37 goals (23 goals, 14 assists). The forward’s break in professional football came back in 2017/18 after scoring 20 goals in 30 games for SV Rödinghausen in the Regionalliga West. He then earned a move to 1. FC Magdeburg, for whom he was directly involved in eight goals in 32 second-division matches. Bülter subsequently signed for newly promoted Bundesliga side Union Berlin in summer 2019. He scored seven goals in 32 Bundesliga games to help keep them up in their maiden top-flight campaign, before qualifying for the UEFA Conference League the following season. The 30-year-old then moved to Schalke in 2021.
