Can Bozdogan joins FC Utrecht on loan
Can Bozdogan has joined FC Utrecht on loan. The Eredivisie club also have the option to buy the 21-year-old, whose contract with S04 is set to run until the 2023/24 season. Both parties have agreed not to disclose further details of the transfer.
“There is a lot of competition in the squad in his position, so it would have been difficult for Can to get playing time this season. We communicated this openly and transparently with him right from the start. That’s why the move to FC Utrecht makes sense for both. Can has the chance to get more playing time and we are able to reduce our squad in this position. We wish can all the best in Utrecht,” said Rouven Schröder.

Bozdogan’s youth career began at 1. FC Köln and he joined the Schalke U19s in 2019. He made his professional debut less than a year later. The midfielder was loaned to Besiktas for the 2021/22 season and he made 23 appearances league for the Turkish club (1 goal, 1 assist). He also played four times in the Champions League.
