Danny Latza out for the remainder of the year

Danny Latza will miss the remaining two games of the year against 1. FC Nürnberg and Hamburger SV. The Royal Blue captain suffered a muscle injury during the 2-1 defeat to St. Pauli. Marius Bülter was also absent from Tuesday's training session (7/12) after having been sidelined recently due to abnormal blood values.

However, four players have been able to return to training after having not travelled to Hamburg on the weekend. Florian Flick, Yaroslav Mikhailov, Marc Rzatkowski and Salif Sané all missed the match against Pauli with slight knocks, but were able to complete parts of team training. Today’s session was once again led by assistant coach Sven Piepenbrock and other members of the coaching staff, as head coach Dimitrios Grammozis remains in quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19.

Darko Churlinov, Dominick Drexler, Ralf Fährmann and Simon Terodde all completed an individual session. Michael Langer also continues to work on his comeback after suffering a cruciate ligament tear.
